Fighting nerves and self-doubt

Every podcaster spirals before hitting record at some point. The fix isn't getting rid of nerves — it's having a routine that lets you record through them.

The voice in your head telling you no one wants to hear this is the same voice that stopped you starting for months. It's not a signal — it's static. Most listeners are forgiving; most episodes you fear are nothing nobody will notice.

Build a pre-record ritual that interrupts the spiral. Maybe it's a 30-second breathing exercise, a walk around the block, listening to one episode of a podcaster you love, or just saying out loud 'this is fine, hit record.' Pick three actions you'll take next time the doubt shows up.

Nobody listens to your podcast as critically as you do. The bar is much lower than your imposter syndrome thinks.
