Podcast software

"Podcast software" is a catch-all for any tool you use to record, edit, or publish your show. Some do one job; some try to do all three.

The term covers more ground than you'd think.

Editing software often doubles as recording software — Audacity, Adobe Audition, and Alitu all do both. Online call recorders usually don't edit (or only do it very basically). Publishing/hosting platforms sometimes throw in basic recording and editing too.

Then there's transcription — important for accessibility and increasingly for legal reasons. And if you stretch the term, your project management and scheduling tools (Trello, Asana, Notion, Calendly, Book Like a Boss) count as podcast software too.

Sketch your stack now — even roughly — so you know which gaps you actually need to fill.
