What should go in my podcast description?
Your podcast description is the single biggest factor in whether someone hits play. Make it about the listener — who the show is for and what they'll get from it.
Per The Podcast Host's Podcast Discovery Survey, this is THE most important thing new listeners judge your show on — that crucial window where they've found it but haven't hit play yet. Worth spending real time on.
Note: the podcast description is the summary of your whole show — not the shownotes for an individual episode. In it, talk about who the show is for and what they can expect. Cover the format and the release schedule. Do new episodes drop each Friday? Do seasons run every other month? Say so.
Credibility is good, but make it all about them. Imagine someone reading it and thinking, "What's in this for me?"
