Microstep 8 of 10

How should I name my podcast episodes?

Front-load your podcast episode titles with value. 'Episode 13 - A Conversation With...' loses listeners before they know the topic. Signpost the meat instead.

The biggest mistake is filler. 'Episode 13 - A Conversation With...' tells the listener nothing. You've lost them before they find out what it's about.

Front-load the title with value. What's the meat of the episode? What problem are you solving? That's what draws people in. Interview shows are full of bad examples — 'A Chat with Jane Smith' tells nobody who isn't already a fan to care. Jane might be an expert on exactly what they're struggling with; signpost it.

Descriptive episode titles show up in app search. Listeners type their problem in — your show appears. Everyone wins.
